XML Feed Format

Here are some simple guidelines for preparing an XML feed in order to include your ads in GVA24. If you would like additional information about the XML format, check out Wikipedia. The feed should be written in UTF-8. The XML file has one ‘gva24' tag, and one or more ‘ad' elements. Each ‘ad' element has the following fields:

REQUIRED FIELDS: Required fields have to be included in the feed as they contain the minimum amount of information necessary for our system to include your ads in GVA24.

    * id: numeric id of the ad on your website (it must be unique, we use it to avoid duplicate entries)
    * url: URL of the ad on your website

    * title: title of the ad
    * content: content of the ad (minimum of 20 characters)
    * category: category name of the ad (see allowed category names bellow)
    * country: country of the ad, all valid country names in English are allowed (e.g. France, FRance or FRAANCE)
    * city: city of the ad
    * region: region name
    * phone: phone number of the ad

 

About category: We accept 3 variants of xml feed for now: 1.Car -Vehicles, 2.Jobs, 3.Real Estate. Allowed category names depends on the variant:

OPTIONAL FIELDS: You are not required to include optional fields. However, if you have the information, please use it! GVA24's algorithm prioritizes higher-quality ads; therefore including more information will optimize your positioning.

    * price: price of the ad (integer value).

Please do not include any symbols such as € or $. The price is specified in "USD ($)" by default. If the price is specified in a currency other than USD ($), a currency tag should be included. Allowed currencies are: USD, EUR, CHF, BRL.

    * postcode: postal code of the ad
    * address: street address of the ad
    * date: date of the ad in the following format: DD/MM/YYYY
    * expiration_date: expiration date in the following format: DD/MM/YYYY
    * type: listing type. GVA24 contains "offering" or "wanted" listings at this time
    * pictures: URLs of the pictures for this ad. The ‘pictures' element may contain one or more sets of ‘picture' tags:

The first photo you display in the ‘pictures' tag will be the photo shown on GVA24. Please select this picture carefully as far as it has a influence on the click through behavior of our users. Once a picture is inserted for the first time, our system does not modify or reupload new pictures. So make sure that you include the correct pictures each time you include a new ad in the feed.
